What is GPS tracking?

GPS tracking is technology which utilizes a network of satellites that orbit the earth to identify precise locations of objects on the earth. The location data (and other data the system may collect) is accessible to the end user through a web portal.

A working system includes a transmitter/receiver affixed to the object to be tracked, and a database the data collected is then transmitted to.  Information from multiple GPS satellites is used to determine location, speed, altitude, and heading.

Your Fleetistics GPS Tracking and Telematics Advisor can show you a variety of hardware and applications to address your specific needs.
